Team Message

Being part of the 2009 Markham Fair Ambassador Team has been an amazing experience. When the three of us stood up on the stage not one of us knew exactly what was in store for us next, but we were very excited to find out.

The four days of the fair were filled with excitement and stuff to do and see. We got to experience lots of new things like shearing sheep and milking cows. We handed out ribbons and prizes and even got to judge the Chip Off The Old Block competition. We also got to meet a lot of new people and make new friends. A definite highlight for us was getting to meet a whole bunch of celebrities; The Bonus Brothers were our favourite. The only part we would change was the weather. We were constantly battling wind and rain and worst of all fly away hair, but we always had a good laugh about it.

Our experience as the 2009 Markham Fair Ambassador Team will be one we will never forget and we would like to thank everyone that made this experience possible for us. We would also like to encourage young people to get out there and participate in the 2010 Ambassador Competition. It’s a lot of fun, you get to meet great people and you can help spread the word as to why the Markham Fair is such an important part of our community.
