Additional Rules
- This Section is open to anyone with a special need, Mental or Physical.
- There is no age limit for this Section, but please enter under Junior or Senior Division as per age specified.
- All exhibits must be made since last year’s Fair and must be the work of the exhibitor, except where otherwise stated (hand over hand method.)
- All entries are to be made through the fair office. (Markham Fair, 10801 McCowan Rd., Markham, ON L3P 3J3.) Entry forms are available through the Fair office or members of the committee.
****Entries made through schools do not require exhibitor fees and passes will not be issued.
N.B. School should have school name & address on entry form. Entries submitted by individuals will require 25 cents per entry. Entry forms must be at the Fair Grounds by September 15, 2011 by 8:00 p.m.
- Only one exhibitor per entry form. An exhibitor may enter only one exhibit per Class.
- Note the following times for the delivery of exhibits: All Classes are to be brought to the General Exhibits Building on the Markham Fair Grounds on Friday, September 23 between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. or Saturday, September 24 between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. sharp. Please note: we will be unable to accept late entries.
- Pick-Up Of Exhibits: Exhibits should be picked up at the Fair Grounds on October 2nd, between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m.
- Make enquiries through Chairperson above.
- Please attach entry tag to the top right-hand corner of your exhibit.
Prize Money Classes #1-63:
1st – $4.00; 2nd – $3.50; 3rd – $3.00; 4th – $2.50; 5th & 6th – Ribbons; Other Entrants – Participant Ribbons.
Junior Division:

Crafts (Not Hand Over Hand)
– Classes #1-13
- Decorated wreath—any season. Not to exceed 6″.
- Fridge magnet .
- Pencil or pen holder.
- Picture frame – may be an embellished purchased frame.
- Decorated flower pot. Mini 2″ – 4″.
- Bracelet made with beads with a pattern.
- Card made with seeds, beans and/or pasta – Canadian Harvest 2011 or red and white theme. Not to exceed 6″square.
- Egg carton animal.
- Papier mache mask of animal. Not to exceed 10″ x 10″.

- Heaviest collection of pop can tabs on a string (to be donated to charity).

Hand Over Hand – Classes #14-18:

- Classes #19-25:
- A birthday card – handmade.
- A birthday card – computer made with clipart.
- Freehand painting – watercolour/tempera – Canadian Harvest 2011 or red and white theme. Not to exceed 11″ x 14″ – unframed.
- Bookmark – decorated.
- Coloured picture (crayon/pencil crayon) from colouring book or stencil.
- Paper bag puppet.

Photography – Classes #26-27:

- Collection of at least 2 photos on one theme – attractively displayed. Not to exceed 8.5″ x 11″.

Creative Writing – Classes #28-29:
- Written piece – Summer Vacation – written by hand or on computer by entrant. One page, one sided.
- Dictated Story – My Summer Vacation – entrant tells story that is scribed by hand or on computer by another person. One page, One sided.
