Markham Fair Prize Books - It’s that simple to enter!

Look for a Section from the Prize Books. Pick the Section and best class that matches your entry. Fill out the appropriate Entry Form. Be sure to read the General Rules and Regulations. Bring the form into the Markham Fair Office on or before September 15, 2011, 8PM, with the appropriate entry fees.

Section 3 – Christmas Collections

Before entering this section, please refer to the additional rules for Homecraft, as well as the following:

* Closing date for entry forms: Thursday, September 15th, 2011 by 8:00 p.m.* Will be strictly enforced.

Additional Rules:

  1. All items must be securely assembled for display
    purposes with entry tag affixed.
  2. A charge of 25¢ per entry will apply plus a $5.00 exhibitor’s fee.
  3. Work must not be older than 2 years. Soiled or defective items will not be accepted or judged.
  4. No article may be entered for more than one year.
  5. Exhibits must be brought to the Homecraft Building on Tuesday, Sept. 27th between 12 noon and 9:00 p.m., and may be reclaimed on October 2nd between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. (The stub of the exhibitor’s entry is required.)
  6. We are not responsible for damage done to any items due to humidity or dust in the buildings.
  7. No marshmallow icing (or Fluff) is to be used on edible items.
  8. Christmas themes only.

Prize Money Classes #1-50:

1st – $6.00; 2nd – $4.00; 3rd – $3.00; 4th – $2.00.

Adult – Classes #1-32:

  1. A Christmas ceramic item (maximum 14″ high).
    No artificial embellishments.
  2. A Christmas cone wreath with a bow using cones for the base. (Not to exceed 24″ diameter.)
  3. A Christmas wreath using grape vines or willow vines for the base. (Not to exceed 24″ diameter.)
  4. A Christmas wreath using materials other than cones or vines for the base. (Not to exceed 24″diameter.)
  5. Your choice of a framed Christmas hanging door/wall decoration other than a wreath, i.e. cross-stitch, needlepoint, embroidery, etc. (Maximum 24″ x 36″).
  6. Your choice of an unframed Christmas hanging door/wall decoration other than a wreath, i.e. cross-stitch, needlepoint, embroidery, etc. (Not to exceed 24″ x 36″.) Must be fabric base.
  7. Your choice of a Christmas hanging door/wall decoration other than a wreath and not fabric base
    (maximum 24″ x 36″).
  8. Three Christmas tree ornaments (needlepoint, cross-stitch, embroidered, knitted, crochet). May be different from each other.
  9. Three Christmas tree ornaments, any method not
    mentioned above.
  10. A tole painted item using a Christmas theme.
  11. A Christmas stocking using counted cross-stitch, suitable for filling.
  12. A Christmas stocking, suitable for filling – any medium except counted cross-stitch. (No kits or preprinted panels.)
  13. A creatively wrapped and decorated Christmas gift box. (Not to exceed 12″.)
  14. A Christmas tree topper, any medium.
  15. A Christmas quilted table runner.
  16. A Christmas table runner other than quilted.
  17. A Christmas table place mat and matching napkin – one sample of each.
  18. A Christmas tree skirt.
  19. A Christmas decorated shirt, jacket or vest.
