So…just which portion is the hook and which portion is the loop?
The hook portion of Velcro® brand fasteners looks like an upside-down letter “J”. Hook is often described in different terms – the “rough” or the “bristly” portion. The hook portion engages into the loop component of our panels. The Photography Section panels are covered in the “soft”, “fuzzy”or “carpet” portion of the Velcro®. **Note: Exhibitors please supply your own Velcro®.**

Can you please inform myself as to where i can purchase the velcroe and J hook to enter my photographs.
Thank you so much for your support.
Also can you enter 8X 10 prints ?
admin
You can purchase the ‘hook’ portion of the velcro from Michaels Arts & Crafts Store. Other Exhibitors tell us they’ve purchased them from Home Hardware and Walmart. The ‘hook’ portion is the side of the velcro which is rough like a cat’s tongue. The loop portion is what covers our display panels and enables your prints to stick. You can usually find velcro sold in packages of ‘dots’ or on a roll with the adhesive on the back. Peel and stick is much cleaner and stronger than string and tape. See you at the fair!
Natasha Hirt
Is bristol board okay to mount my pictures on? And how exactly am i supposed to attach them to the bristol board?
admin
Natasha, Thanks for your question/comment. Bristol board can work. Matt board works even better. The more rigid the mounting board then the less chance for the photo to curl if there is humidity in the building during the fair. You can use 2-sided tape to attach your photos to the board. Black’s and Walmart sell photo adhesive strips. They are sold in a roll that you peel off like stickers. Some people use glue however the results are not as good. Good luck and see you at the fair!
