Lake Simcoe South Master Gardeners are members of Master Gardeners of Ontario, Inc., a registered non-profit organization.
We are volunteers that are trained and certified in horticulture to provide gardening advice to the general public. As Master Gardeners, we are committed to science-based, sustainable gardening practices. LSSMG has provided gardening information to the residents of York Region since 1988.
We hold gardening advice clinics at local farmers markets and fairs. We also offer presentations and workshops to community and civic groups on a variety of topics including:
- annuals and perennials
- trees and shrubs
- soil health
- integrated pest management
- growing fruits and vegetables
Our members regularly contribute gardening articles to community newspapers and magazines. Our website also has a section for gardening information on specific topics.
