Competitions and Contests

We are in the process of revision and publication of 2010 Markham Fair Prize Book sections. Check out the competition and contests link. If you still see the information from last year, it will give you an idea of the classes and categories for this year. There are usually only small changes from year to year. New sections will be posted online when they are finalized. It is our goal to have the entire homecraft prize book approved and online by April 20, 2010.

• SECTION 12 - SCHOOL CHILDREN

Thank-you for visiting the 2009 Markham fair and making it a great Success!

On October 1,2,3 and 4, 2009, we welcomed over 50,000 visitors to the Markham Fair!

Our over 100 acre Fairgrounds was filled with Live Entertainment from a Tribute to Hannah Montana, to the roaring Monster Trucks, and evenings of wonderful Fireworks!

Friday evening, the race track was full of excitement as the Truck Pull was taking place, even though the weather was not in our favour. We still had a great crowd. Wheels were spinning in the track mud. The Stands were filled with young families waiting to see who would be the top puller in each class! Saturday evening, the Livestock barn was packed with people watching the Heavy Horse Pull. The winning team was from Quebec!

On behalf of the Markham Fair Board of Directors and over 700 Volunteers, I wish to Thank-you for coming out and making the 2009 Markham Fair a great success!

See you in 2010, and remember… its "always the weekend before Thanksgiving!"

Gift Shop

The Gift Shop is closed, however we are selling calendars for 2010 at the Fair Office. The calendars feature 12 images of Markham Fair. (one per month) The selling price is $15ea. Quantity is very limited. Drop on by the office to purchase them.(9 AM to 4 PM, Mon-Fri) If there are any left by October 24th, they will be for sale to members at the Annual Banquet.
