President's Message Homecraft President's Msg Ambassador's Message Markham Mayor's Message Stouffville Mayor's Message | you are in: Fair > Greetings > President's Message Presidents Message - 2009
“COME, CELEBRATE OUR FARMING HERITAGE!” Whether you are a first time exhibitor, you have been exhibiting for many years or you are experiencing the Markham Fair for the first time, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 165th Markham Fair. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Members of Council from the Towns of Markham and Whitchurch Stouffville for their continued support and express our appreciation to the service clubs and other organizations from both towns who contribute to the Fair, making it a great success. I would like to thank the Board of Directors, Homecraft executive and over 600 volunteers who devote so much time and effort to make the Fair run so well. A special thanks to Michelle, Mick and Lynda who work very hard, not only at Fair time, but all throughout the year. Beginning as an infant in the baby contest I have grown up to love every aspect of the Markham Fair! I enjoy seeing the excitement in the eyes of the children, as they see, for the first time, a cow being milked or hear the roar of the engines as a monster truck jumps over a school bus. I hope that this year you too, will experience something new at the Markham Fair! Whether it is Old MacDonald’s barn with baby chicks being born, sheep shearing, 4-H cattle show, Homecraft and Domestic Science exhibits, special displays and antiques, or live entertainment, the Markham Fair has something for everyone. I look forward to seeing you at the Markham Fair, Karen Murphy, President
