Before entering this section, please refer to the additional rules for Homecraft, as well as the following:

* Closing date for entry forms: Thursday, September 16th, 2010 by 8:00 p.m.* Will be strictly enforced.

Additional Rules for all Art Divisions:

Any artwork that does not comply with the rules will not be accepted.

1. Please secure entry tag to back of artwork.
2. Exhibits must be brought to the Homecraft Building Tuesday, Sept. 28th between 12:00 and 9:00 p.m. and may be reclaimed on Sunday, October 3rd between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m.
3. No wet artwork will be accepted. Flat Artwork Only.

Adult Art Division

Additional Rules to this Division:

1. No former prize winning works of art will be accepted.
2. To be accepted, all pictures must be properly framed and wired from side to side only.
3. Artwork with sawtooth hangers will not be accepted..
4. Pictures including frames must be no longer than 36”
   (91 cm) on the longest side.
5. Glass or plexiglass size shall not exceed 24” (61 cm) on the longest side, not including frame, in any category.
6. All artwork is to be original - no copies or paint by numbers. A copy is defined as a drawing or painting taken (or partially taken) from another artist’s work.
7. Any work entered in the wrong Class may be hung but not judged.
8. A charge of 25¢ per entry will apply plus a $5.00 exhibitor fee.
   

Prize Money Classes #1-12:

1st - $7.00; 2nd -$6.00; 3rd - $5.00; 4th - $4.00

1. Land/Seascape Small, any medium. Overall Artwork size including frame to be 18” (45 cm) or less on the longest side.
2. Land/Seascape Large, any medium. Overall Artwork size including frame to be over 18” (45 cm) on the longest side
3. Multi Media.
4. Any subject, any medium.
5. Floral, any medium.
6. People, any medium.
7. Building, with one or more, any medium.
8. Animals, including fish, fowl & reptiles, any medium.
9. Transparent watercolour, any subject.
10. Oil or acrylic, any subject.
11. Charcoal or pencil drawing, no colour, any subject.
12. Coloured pencil or conte, any subject.

Awards:

Markham Group of Artists - $25.00 - Best of Show.

Markham Group of Artists - $20.00 - Best Watercolour.

Markham Group of Artists - $20.00 - Best Oil or Acrylic.

Intermediate Art Division

Additional Rules to this Division:

1. No former prize winning works of art will be accepted.
2. All entrants must be 18 years of age or under as of Dec. 31st, 2010.
3. To be accepted all exhibits must be sturdily matted or framed and wired from side to side.
4. Artwork with sawtooth hangers will not be accepted.
5. Pictures must be no longer than 24” (61 cm) on the longest side, including frame.
6. Paintings larger than 24” (61 cm) on the longest side including frame may be entered in the Adult Division.
7. Please Note: There is only one class in which a copy may be entered. A copy is defined as a drawing or painting taken (or partially taken) from another artist’s work.
8. An entry fee of 25¢ will be charged for each entry plus a $5.00 exhibitor fee.
9. Any work that is entered in the wrong category may be displayed but not judged.

Prize Money Classes #13-20:

13. Transparent watercolour, any subject. No copies.
14. Oil, Acrylic, Tempera, Gouache - any subject. No copies.
15. Pastels, any subject. No copies.
16. Any subject, any medium. No copies. Must be 14 years of age and under.
17. Any subject, any medium. No copies. Must be 16 years of age and under.
18. Pen and ink, any subject. No copies.
19. Pencil, charcoal or conte, no colour, any subject. No copies.
20. A copy of your favourite artist’s drawing or painting, any medium.

Junior Art Division

Additional Rules to this Division:

1. All entrants must be 13 years of age or under as of
   December 31st, 2010.
2. Pictures must be:
3. Mounted on Bristol Board or sturdy matting.
4. No longer than 18” (46 cm) in total on the longest side.
5. No thicker than 1”
   (due to display case depth restrictions).
6. No Frames
7. Please Note: There is only one class in which a copy may be entered. A copy is defined as a drawing or painting taken (or partially taken) from another artist’s work.
8. An entry fee of 25¢ will be charged for each entry plus a $5.00 exhibitor fee.
9. Any work that is entered in the wrong class may be displayed but not judged.

21. A copy of your favourite artist’s drawing or painting, any medium.
22. Oil, acrylic or water colour, any subject. No copies.
23. Cartoons, your own original caricature or cartoon
    situation, any medium.
24. Felt pen or pen and ink, any subject. No copies.
25. Pastels, any subject. No copies.
26. Lead pencil or charcoal, any subject. No colour.
    No copies.
27. More than one medium, any subject. No copies.
    (For example: water colour, ink, crayon).

(Children 9 years of age or under may also enter in any of the above classes.)

28. Any subject, any medium. For children 9 years or under as of Dec. 31st, 2010. No copies.
