Rotary – MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Solving real problems takes real effort, commitment, and vision. Rotarians work to protect communities from preventable disease, keep women and children healthy, improve education and economic outcomes, create safe water and sanitation infrastructure, and make our community and the world a more peaceful place.
Our Rotary Club is working on various projects with the following partners:
- Markham Food Bank
- City of Markham
- Markham area Senior facilities
- York District High Schools
- Markham Rotary Choir
- Markham Rotary Refugee Response (MRRR)
- Adopt a village in Laos
- Evergreen Hospice
Evergreen Hospice is the community hospice serving Markham and Whitchurch-Stouffville and Thornhill. Since 1989, they have been helping people of all ages who are touched by a life threatening illness or death of a loved one. They provide compassionate palliative care, helping people to have a positive quality of life while maintaining their dignity and personal choice. Bereavement support is designed to meet the specific emotional needs of children, teens and adults as they adjust to their loss. Services are provided to the client by professional staff and specially trained volunteers.
