The Markham Fair Board of Directors, on behalf of the staff and hundreds of volunteers, would like to thank everyone involved, for another successful year at Markham Fair. We are especially grateful to our fair visitors for attending, our exhibitors for displaying their animals and handicrafts, our sponsors for supporting the fair financially, our concession vendors for supplying such a wide array of food and merchandise, the service clubs for their dedication and support, the York Regional Police, Emergency Services, Markham Fire Department and St. John’s Ambulance for their professionalism and care, and of course our many suppliers and business partners for their expertise and service. The Markham Fair is truly a community event and we rely on our many stakeholders to ensure our annual tradition continues to be such an overwhelming success!
Despite the drizzle and overcast Sunday, our crowds enjoyed the ever-popular monster trucks, demolition derby, horse, beef and other farm animal shows, homecraft exhibits, the thrills of the midway operated by World’s Finest Shows, a large Agri-Food tent with hands-on demonstrations, the Rooks to Cooks Competition, and all sorts of entertainment on stage and throughout the grounds. The livestock arena was the venue for Canada’s largest Limousine beef cattle show in 2018 as well as The National Blonde d’Aquitaine Show. Special attractions this year included the RAM Rodeo, Horse Power Live, Markham Fair Horse Obstacle Challenge, Lawn Tractor Pull and the President’s Choice SuperDogs. Young and old, families and friends, gathered to enjoy the 2018 Markham Fair, “Old Days, New Ways”.
Plans are already underway for the 175th Markham Fair to be held on October 3, 4, 5, 6, 2019, an annual tradition since 1844. Always the weekend before Thanksgiving!
