Markham Fair Policy & Services

Pet Policy

To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all our guests, volunteers, and vendors, the Markham Fairgrounds has implemented the following Pet Policy:

🚫 No Dogs or Pets Permitted

For the safety, comfort, and health of all visitors, pets are not permitted anywhere on the fairgrounds. This includes:

  • All public areas
  • Event spaces
  • Walkways
  • Green spaces
  • Parking lots and vehicles parked on-site

We love animals, but due to the nature of our events and large crowds, this policy is strictly enforced.

Service Dogs Welcome

Dogs are not permitted on the grounds unless participating in the Agility Competitions or in the Children’s Pet Show on Friday afternoon. Dogs will be admitted a half-hour before your event. Service animals are allowed on the parts of our premises that are open to the public. Service animals required to assist Ontarians with disabilities are accepted.

In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and other applicable laws, service animals are welcome on the fairgrounds. A service animal is defined as one that is trained to assist a person with a disability.

Visitors accompanied by a service animal may be asked to confirm that their animal is a working service animal by:

  • Presenting documentation from a regulated health professional confirming the need for a service animal, or
  • Showing identification or certification from a recognized service animal training organization

Service animals must remain under the care and control of their handler at all times.

Thank you for helping us keep the fairgrounds safe and accessible to everyone.

These images and recordings may be used by MEYAS for purposes of publicity, advertising, sale and promotions including but not limited to use in print materials, websites, digital media, videos, displays and other communications throughout the world without compensation or further notice.
