Ambassador Contest

Do you love attending the Markham Fair each year? If yes, we are looking for young leaders within our community to represent the Markham Fair as our Ambassadors!

As a Markham Fair Ambassador, you’ll experience the Fair from a whole new perspective. You’ll connect with our incredible volunteers, engage with Fair visitors, represent the Fair at community events, and develop valuable leadership and public-speaking skills along the way. Best of all, you’ll make lasting memories, build confidence, and have a lot of fun!

Our Ambassador program includes exciting prizes, four unforgettable days at the Fair, and for our Senior Ambassador team, scholarship opportunities and the chance to represent Markham Fair at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) Ambassador of the Fairs Competition alongside ambassadors from across Ontario.

The Markham Fair is proudly represented by:

• Senior Ambassadors (ages 18 to 24)
• Junior Ambassador (ages 12 to 15)

Senior Ambassador Competition

The 2026 Senior Ambassador Competition will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. in the Wine Tent at the Markham Fairgrounds.

The Senior Ambassador team, including the Lead Senior Ambassador, will be announced during the Fair and recognized during Opening Ceremonies.

Contestants will:

• Deliver a 1 to 2 minute prepared speech on a topic provided in advance (fair, agriculture, community, leadership, etc.)
• Answer an impromptu question
• Demonstrate communication skills, confidence, knowledge of the Fair, and poise while interacting with judges, Fair patrons, and the public

The Senior Ambassador team will represent the Markham Fair throughout the 2026 to 2027 season (October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027) at the Fair and at community events throughout the year.

Jr. Competition Contest Details

The 2026 Junior Ambassador Competition will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. on the Outdoor Stage at the Markham Fairgrounds.

The Junior Ambassador will represent the Markham Fair throughout the 2026 to 2027 season (October 2, 2026, to October 1, 2027) during Fair time and at select community events.

Contestants will:

• Create and submit a digital “All About Me” presentation before the Fair
• Deliver a 1 to 2 minute speech
• Demonstrate confidence, communication skills, and poise while interacting with judges and the public
