Markham Fair Miniature Butter Sculpture Challenge

Show your creativity and have fun while channeling your inner artist. Turn a 1 lb block of butter into art!

7:00 The challenge starts with a demonstration by a champion butter sculptor who will share tips and tricks for sculpting with butter.

7:30 Let the fun begin! There are 3 age categories, kids, teens, and adults to create a miniature butter sculpture from a one-pound block of butter no larger than a 10-inch plate.

The theme for the sculptures can be Farm, Food, or Fair.
Kids – age 6 to 12 years old will have 20 minutes
Teens – age 13 to 17 years old will have 30 minutes
Adults – age 18 and over will have 45 minutes

Contestants will be supplied with a pound of butter, a plastic knife, a popsicle stick, a toothpick and plastic gloves, but are welcome to bring their own sculpting tools also.

The winner from each age category will receive a prize pack from  and their sculpture will remain on display in the Agri-Food Tent for the remainder of the Fair.

Registration and questions – Send an email containing the contestants name, age, and phone number to cook@markhamfair.ca by Wednesday, October 2nd. Don’t delay, spaces are limited. No butter sculpting experience necessary.
